     For information about the Java platform's Year 2000 Compliance,

     Support for Japanese Locales
     This version of the Java Development Kit supports the Japanese
     ja_JP.PCK (ShiftJIS) locale and the Solaris 2.6 ja (EUC) locale.
     The new Japanese ja_JP.UTF-8 locale, available with Solaris 7, is
     not suppported. Support for ja_JP.UTF-8 is provided in the Java 2
     platform.
